Renowned Punjabi folk singer, Gurmeet Bawa was one of the first Punjabi singers to have had an appearance on Doordarshan. She is known to be able to hold the opening note of a Punjabi folk song for longer than anyone else and her rendition of the famous song Jugni remains one of the best of all times.
