The SOI Chamber Orchestra, comprising musicians from the Symphony Orchestra of India will present their first concert in Jaipur. Find yourself in the beautiful worlds of Mozart, Vivaldi and Tchaikovsky as the orchestra will take you on a varied journey of western classical repertoire. The Symphony Orchestra of India is the country’s first and only professional symphony orchestra and is housed at Mumbai’s National Centre for the Performing Arts. The SOI was formed in 2006 by NCPA Chairman Khushroo Suntook and internationally-renowned violin virtuoso Marat Bisengaliev, who has since been the music director. Zane Dalal is the Associate Music Director. The SOI has worked with renowned musicians including Martyn Brabbins, Barry Douglas, Simon O’Neill, Edgar Meyer, Bela Fleck and Zakir Hussain among many others.
